In 1952, Jennie Campisi started selling flowers from her husband Adolph's Airview market at Columbus Drive and Habana Avenue. The name 'Jennies' has been synonymous with flowers in West Tampa ever since; as says an old Jennie's Flowers ad, "Quality is not expensive, it's priceless!"

Patti Campisi, daughter of the original owner explains, "My father built the Jennies that we know today in the 1950's. Little by little, he added onto my mother's flower shop."

Jennies remains family-operated to this day. The McCarthy family purchased the store in 2001 and re-instilled the family values and philosophies so important to Jennie Campisi. Jennie's son – Frank Campisi – remains with the company to this day. Frank operates another McCarthy flag ship store – Fallon's Flowers of Raleigh North Carolina.

Pat Martinez, general manager of Jennie's Flowers explains, "The family-feel of the place is the secret of Jennie's success. Although it is perfectly possible for Jennie's customers to order on line, what remains here is the same family ethic that was here in the 50's. Our staff tends to stay with us – one designer has been at Jennie's Flowers for more than 20 years."

Jennie's does not buy its flowers from middlemen wholesalers – rather, it purchases all of its flowers and green plants directly from the growers. This minimizes travel time for the fragile plants and ensures that the product that is delivered to your door is, florally 'super-fresh.'

Jennies Flowers of Tampa Bay was voted 'Best Florist' by the US business association in 2008.

Jennies Flowers is rated 'exceptional' on YellowPages.com and continues to garner positive reviews on google and across the web. The store is featured annually by Fox 5 of Tampa Bay and is proud of the association.

Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.
